Fan and HEPA Filter upgrade

Post by Kenny66 » Thu Oct 25, 2018 12:34 pm

This is an add-on to the Promega that does the following.
  • Provides a cover for the cable chain opening in the back
  • Provides a means to create a semi-sealed environment in the Promega
  • Provides HEPA and Carbon filtration to filter out odors, particulates and toxic fumes that certain filaments can give off
  • Creates a slight negative pressure inside the Promega (when side, top and front panels are installed)
  • Quiet operation using 2 Noctua 40x40x10 5v fans with up to 9CFM of air movement
  • Entire contents of the Promega is filtered up to 8 times per minute with fans at full speed
  • Provided temperature sensor can be used to control the build area temperature by automatically controlling the fan speeds
I'm not looking to get rich or anything, but to help offset the costs of my printers I'm offering this kit for sale. I'll be up front about it, the cost of materials is about $50, and each unit takes about 35 hours of printing time. Chances are I won't be able to find bulk pricing for Noctua fans, which are the most expensive parts. Final price will be set when we post it for sale, but it will likely be in the range of $80-90 + shipping.

The kit will include:
  • 3D printed cover for the cable chain opening at the rear of the Promega
  • 2 Noctua 40x40x10 5V 4.8cfm fans
  • 2 50mm HEPA + Carbon filter cartridges
  • 1 NTC Thermistor (temperature sensor)
  • Installation and Configuration instructions
To gauge interest, please take a second to answer the poll.

Thanks.
